Welcome to Sankofa Day Nursery's Website. We are a small nursery that have been running for over 13 years and will be celebrating our 14th in 2012! Located in Peckham we provide care for children aged between 2 to 5 years old. Nursery Hours
Sankofa Nursery is open from 8am to 6pm all year round with the exception of the statutory holidays.
Facilities
Inside we have a creative play area. This is where the children have a chance to create drawings from the theme of the month you can see some of our examples in the 'View The Nursery' section. There is a role play area. Here children can become even more creative and play dress up. There is a library area where we have interactive story time. We like to go outside as much as possible because we have a large outdoor play area equipped with a rubber saftey surface area, water pits, sand pits, shaded areas, an adventure slide and a wendy house! Children have the chance to enjoy the weather when sunny! Any excuse for a picnic!
The Team!
The nursery currently employs 5 members of staff and a lunchtime cleaner/helper. These members of staff have various qualifications ranging from a BTEC in Childcare, NVQIII, NVQII and a City and Guilds. One member of staff is currently studying for her BTEC. We are also fortunate to have students with us on a regular basis. We would hope that you would treat all of our staff with the same respect you would expect from them.
All members of staff attend regular team meetings to share progress and achievements of the children in their key groups and also to discuss any concerns or problems that may have arisen. This is also the time for staff to discuss the theme for the upcoming month.
