About the Recipe

Ingredients
50g butter
100g milk or dark chocolate
3 tbsp golden syrup
100g cornflakes
You’ll also need a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, a large mixing bowl, a wooden spoon, and about 12 cupcake cases.
Preparation
Step 1: Little Hands Get Measuring
Encourage your child to weigh out the ingredients.
Older children can do this with light supervision, while younger ones can help pour or spoon ingredients onto the scales.
This builds early maths and coordination skills!
Step 2: Grown-Ups Take the Lead
Melt the butter, chocolate and golden syrup together — either in a saucepan over a low heat or in short bursts in the microwave.
Allow the mixture to cool slightly before pouring it over the cornflakes in the large bowl.
Step 3: Stir, Scoop and Set
Let your child gently stir the cornflakes and chocolate mixture using a wooden spoon until everything is coated.
Spoon the mixture into cupcake cases on a tray — little ones may need some help here (and that ’s okay if it gets a bit messy!).
Pop them in the fridge for about 30 minutes until set.
