Everything You Need to Know in One Place

Welcome to the Parent Zone — your one-stop space for everything you need to know about life at Sankofa Nursery.
We know how busy family life can be, so we’ve made it easy to find key information, stay connected and feel confident about your child’s nursery journey.

🕓 Opening Hours & Term Dates

We’re open Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:45pm, for 50 weeks each year.

Closures:

  • Bank Holidays

  • Two weeks over the Christmas period

Term dates are shared with families each year.

🎒 What to Bring Each Day

To help your child feel comfortable and ready for their day, please pack:

  • A labelled change of clothes (including socks & underwear)

  • Nappies and wipes (if applicable)

  • A water bottle

  • Weather-appropriate items (coat, hat, wellies, sun hat, sun cream)

  • Comfort items (if needed — such as a small blanket or teddy)

We provide healthy snacks and meals, so no need to bring packed lunches unless agreed otherwise.

💡 Top tip: Please label all belongings with your child’s name to avoid mix-ups.

🌿 Our Communication with You

We believe strong parent partnerships are the key to every child’s success.

Through our Famly app, you’ll receive:

  • Daily updates and photos

  • Learning observations linked to the EYFS

  • Messages from your child’s key person

  • Term newsletters and announcements

You can also send messages directly to staff through the app — it’s the easiest way to stay connected.
